Called and anointed to the Body of Christ with a servant's heart in Kingdom leadership.

"The man with the heart behind the message..."

Bishop Rick Callahan, D. Min.

Bishop Rick is known for his passion for the lost and his tenderness towards God and His people. A native of North Carolina, he moved to Vermont with his family over 20 years ago. He has poured his life into building the local church, supporting God's leaders, and preaching the gospel throughout Vermont, New England, and the world.

While in Korea in 1996, Bishop Rick had the distinct privilege of meeting Dr. Yonggi Cho who laid hands upon him and prayed a prayer of anointing upon his life and ministry. Out of that experience, and through much personal prayer and preparation, God birthed Proceeding Word Ministries - a dynamic ministry with apostolic call and vision. Through this ministry, Apostle Rick travels extensively to the nations of the world. In the past three years, he has visited the Middle East, China, India, Central America and the Philipine Islands. His apostolic calling carries a prophetic cutting edge and compassionate heart.

As a result of Maranatha's regional influence and impact, Bishop Callahan was urged to form a ministerial fellowship to provide support and direction for area pastors. This eventually led to the founding of Maranatha Ministerial Fellowship, International (MMFI). Today, MMFI covers and supports nearly 50 ministries in seven states and the province of Quebec, Canada. Bishop Callahan, along with the Apostolic Board, provides leadership and spiritual covering. The recent MMFI conference (Sept. 03) was a powerful time of ministry with speaker Bishop Bart Pierce.

Bishop Rick has laid a new challenge before our local congregation. During a ministry time, he challened us to the vision of saving a generation.  Since then, the theme Save a Generation has reverberated in our hearts and minds. Our vision is to redeem, anoint, train, and release a new generation of God's leaders into their destiny.

In 2000, Rick became a member of the International Coalition of Apostles under the leadership of C. Peter Wagner and Apostle John Kelly. On July 20, 2001, he was commissioned as a apostle during a public ceremony at maranatha Christian Church by Dr. John Kelly.

He is a graduate of Gloryland Bible Institute and holds a Doctor of Ministry and a Doctor of Divinity degree from Christian Clife School of Theology, Cloumbus, Georgia.
